Estelle Dolla's analysis of Private Equity

🎤 Estelle Dolla, co-founder and CEO of Private Corner, was interviewed by Aurélie Fardeau for L'Express in her article questioning the profitability of Private Equity.

📢 If 26% of fundraising* was achieved thanks to private investors in 2023, it's important to remember the importance of maintaining the asset class's historical approach, which has enabled it to post average performances of +14.2% net of fees over 10 years*.

This exchange was an opportunity for Estelle Dolla to reaffirm Private Corner's DNA and remind us that an institutional approach 💎 (fees, successive fund calls, long time...) is key to enabling the asset class to retain its title of “profitable investment” 🥇!

Private equity at a glance

Private equity refers to investments made directly in unlisted companies. These are generally funds injected to finance their development, restructuring or takeover. These investments are often made by specialised funds that take equity stakes in these companies with the aim of achieving a high return over the medium to long term.

The main private equity strategies include : - Venture capital: Financing of young innovative companies with high growth potential. - Growth capital: Providing capital to mature companies to accelerate their expansion. - Leverage Buy-Out (LBO ): The purchase of companies using debt.

In Europe, according to Invest Europe, by 2022 around €100 billion will have been invested in private equity, supporting the growth of many unlisted companies.
